Who we are

Our Values at JC
St James Clerkenwell (JC) is a growing group of people seeking to know God more each day. Were excited about being a church for all people in the heart of London and aim to be a church that anyone can come along to and feel welcomed as part of things from the outset.

We put our priority into 3 shared values which define the sort of people we aim to be and therefore shape everything we do as a church:

At JC were about valuing all people - we want to be welcoming, relevant and accessible to all sorts of people
motto: 'all people matter to God and ought to mater to us'

At JC were about asking any question - we aim to accommodate people who are just investigating Christianity
motto: 'no previous experience necessary'

At JC were about becoming like Jesus - we seek to apply the bible in ways that renew our thinking and transform our daily lives
motto: 'from head knowledge to life transformation'

Our values are founded on Jesus' prayer for just before his arrest and crucifixion. Jesus prays for those who will trust in him after his time on earth:
that all of them may be one (John 17:20-21)
that the world may believe (John 17:21)
that the love you have for me may be in them (John 17:25-26)

Three great values which we hope both excite and challenge you. The excitement comes from seeing all thats on offer to those who are part of JC. The challenge comes from seeing all thats still to be done as we aim to live the vision of CDE more fully as a church family.
