Welcome
We are a Church of England Parish Church in the Diocese of London.
Clerkenwell is in the centre of London lying between the City and the West End.
St James Clerkenwell (JC) is a growing and lively church community drawing all sorts of people from the local area.
Our aim at St James is to be a place in the heart of Clerkenwell where the whole community can meet each other and discover more of what is means to relate to the creator of this universe.
We want to be a place of welcome and discovery - an open door for everyone to explore who God is. We use modern media to look at what the bible says about issues we face each day. You can find out more about our 3 core values:
Community, Discovery, Engagement

Whether you've been a Christian for many years, are just starting out on your journey of faith, or have never set foot in a church and are just curious as to what Christianity is about... there is something for you during the week at St James.
At St James, we'd love to help you explore the Christian message further, and ask your questions, in a relaxed and open environment. We offer lots of opportunities to find out more at your level and at your pace.
We run short Christianity courses throughout the year. These meet at different venues on days & times to suit everyone.
We also meet on a Sunday morning. All are welcome, no experience necessary.
We hope your visit to this website will encourage you to come and visit us at St James.
Finally, a message from
Andrew Baughen
our Vicar:
"I hope you will find St James a spiritual 'home' - a place you can safely ask your questions and grow in your Christian faith. If I can help in any way or you'd simply like to meet me to chat about faith or questions on weddings and baptisms, please contact me. Relating to God is an amazing privilege - at St James we welcome you to come and explore that privilege today!"
