Weddings

At St James we love supporting couples preparing for marriage in any way we can.

We see the wedding day as far more than just a one off celebration - it is a life-changing declaration before God, family and friends that you are committed to each other for life.

In the past few years St James has seen lots of couples march along its aisle - weddings which have ranged vastly in size, type, look and feel. Here you can see a series of photos of one recent wedding at St James.

If you are thinking of choosing St James for your wedding day, please contact our vicar, the Revd Andrew Baughen, who will be pleased to discuss this with you.

Wedding guide

We have prepared a wedding guide to lead you through the process of getting married at St James and give you an insight into what we can offer. It is our aim to help you prepare not only for what we hope will be a most special day, but for your marriage as a whole.
The guide also contains the wording of the marriage service, cost of fees, and some suggestions for hymns and readings you might want to choose.

As part of your wedding preparations we also encourage you to attend our Marriage Preparation Course which runs at St James on a regular basis.

If you decide to get married at St James you will need to complete a 'Banns of Marriage Application Form'.

Marriage preparation course

We run a course throughout the year which aims to provide a structured environment to learn more about building a marriage, develop your understanding of each other and discuss your hopes and dreams for married life together. View more information and check the dates for the next course.
